About House of Prayer
House of Prayer is just one the of many fine churches in the Aliquippa/Hopewell area. We are a group of your neighbors who are good at some things and struggle with many others. We all struggle often with life. However, we find that being in Christian community with one another helps us with hope and meaning.
We are a church that focuses on worship and caring for our community. Our worship is particular. Some might use certain labels like traditional or contemporary. We would argue that our worship is both traditional and contemporary. We use ancient traditions and rituals to tell an old story that must connect to ours now. That story demands that we look to our community and care for them…now.
You are invited to come to worship and serve with us.
Worship
We worship in a liturgical way. That is to say, everyone is
charged with worshipping. The Pastor or worship leaders are
not worshipping for you. You have the awesome opportunity
to worship God. Our worship is contemporary. It speaks to the
realities of the world in 2025 by drawing upon the great
tradition of the church. The prayers, music, scriptures, and
words that follow are often hundreds, if not thousands of years
old. Our worship is full of colors, images, symbols, and
pageantry that is meant to inspire and challenge us in our
faith. The depth of this worship pushes all of us in our
faith. Again, welcome to worship.
Outreach
House of Prayer has a long history of love and care for the community (especially Aliquippa). For decades, we have maintained a "by appointment" food pantry and a monthly Clothes Cupboard.

Over the last 15 years, we have worked really hard to amplify our efforts of community care, focusing especially on food.

Youth
At House of Prayer, we love our diversity of children. We have a variety of engagement opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. In addition to a bi-weekly Sunday School, we have a number of fun monthly events ranging from simply fun to faith development.
